You can be creative and remove the surge protector then use the anchors/screws to mount the box anywhere you like. Also, you can use them to further strengthen the box to the wall if you don't feel comfortable without them.
It is not a requirement but if you test it out you will notice that it fits better. What is important is the tightening of the 2 inch middle screw (included with every box) or else the whole cable box might fall off in time.
When removing the outlet plate, turn off the power to your wall outlet before you start.
Your wall outlet is up-side-down because it was installed incorrectly. You can turn it back to the correct direction with just a screw driver. Safety first, turn off the power to your wall outlet before you start.
Another option is to turn the Pluggable Cable Management Box's surge protector up-side-down. You will need a screw driver to do that.
We'd only listed countries that use "Type B" outlet. If your country is not listed and you would like to buy a large quantity without the built-in "Type B" surge protector feel free to contact us with the form below.

In keeping with the latest standards there can only be one set of active plugs. In most cases wall mounted surge protectors are manufactured with a single set of plugs. This can cause instability. We have two sets of plugs to provide maximum strength or 'grip' to attach the cable management box into the wall. The bottom set is active but the top set is inactive. It works the same as any UL/ETL certified wall mount surge protector.
Yes and no. You can use your own surge protector but it cannot be attached to the box the same way as our built-in surge protector. You can removed the built-in surge protector and throw in a corded one. The box will need to be mounted to the wall using the included anchor/screw sets.
The Pluggable Cable Management Box was not designed for universal in-wall surge protector fitting.
